Flash Flood Warning Issued In Hudson County As Waters Rise (PHOTOS)
Many corners of Hudson County flooded during 9 a.m. high tide and officials said more rain is on the way.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — As high tide arrived around 9 a.m. today, cars drove through floodwaters in Hudson County and police placed barricades on still others.
A flash flood warning has been issued until 12:30 p.m. Officials have issued reminders that a car or person can become trapped quickly in a flash flood. Such floods have proved fatal, and even a half foot of water can lift a car off the road.
Forecasters said the area may get more than 4 inches of rain by 6 a.m. Saturday, unprecedented since Tropical Depression Ida, which took 30 lives in New Jersey in September 2021.
