Flood Watch Issued For Jersey City With Inch Of Rain, Wind Gusts Later

Thunderstorms and wind gusts are predicted. Find out when the flood watch will be in effect later.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — With as much as 1.5 inches of rain and wind gusts expected later on Sunday, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the area.

The watch runs from noon until midnight, with steady rain expected throughout that period.

High tide on the Hudson River will be at 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

Officials advise not to drive through flooded waters.

The NWS predicts: "Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then showers likely between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 49. Southeast wind 10 to 17 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph."
