Jersey City 911 Dispatcher Illegally Accessed Records: Prosecutor

A Jersey City 911 supervisor has been accused of illegally accessing personal records, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 911 dispatcher in Jersey City has been charged for illegally obtaining someone's personal information, prosecutors say.

Rose Davis, 58, of Jersey City, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 28, and charged with one count of second-degree computer criminal activity, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

She was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending her first court appearance, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 7, prosecutors said.

An investigation conducted with the assistance of the Jersey City Special Investigations Unit determined that on July 15, 2023, "Davis used her position as a telecommunications supervisor to obtain records and personal identifying information which she was not authorized to keep for her own records," prosecutors said.

Jersey City's 911 system has been cited over the past few years for problems, including not responding to calls in a timely manner, and not adequately compensating workers.
