'Desecrating Human Remains' Charge For Man In Hudson County Stabbing Case
A man, 32, was charged with desecrating/disturbing human remains in connection with a stabbing in Hudson County on Tuesday.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has charged a 39-year-old man in connection with a stabbing death in Kearny on Tuesday.
Elliot Barton, 39, of Kearny, was charged Tuesday with one count of desecrating/disturbing human remains, a second-degree crime, prosecutors said.
Corey McFadden, 34, was found dead on Tuesday morning as a result of multiple stab wounds.

On Tuesday, at 5:45 a.m., Kearny police received a 911 call regarding a man lying on the ground in the area of Belgrove Drive and Afton Street.
Officers found McFadden with multiple stab wounds to the lower body. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:20 a.m.

Barton was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Kearny Police Department said they are still investigating and believe more arrests will be made.
