Newark, NJ – July 2025 — The eminent Reverend Bolívar Flores, a leading voice in New Jersey’s religious and civic life, continues to uplift the most vulnerable through his writing, executive leadership, and unwavering pastoral service. As Chief of Staff for the New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), Reverend Flores has authored three major works over the past four years, each contributing powerfully to the fields of faith-based advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and restorative justice.

His first publication, “Hispanic Religious Leaders in Civic Engagement,” released on May 14, 2021, is a groundbreaking exploration of the role of Latino faith leaders in civic life. The book highlights how faith, when rooted in justice, becomes a transformative force in mobilizing communities. This work has been widely used by seminaries, universities, and community institutions to inspire the next generation of spiritually grounded public servants.

In 2023, he published “Nonprofit Organizations: Structures and Finance”, a comprehensive and accessible guide that has become a vital resource for nonprofit founders, directors, and board members. The book addresses critical topics such as governance, sustainability, financial oversight, board development, and fundraising, all from an ethical, transparent perspective.

Most recently, in April 2025, he released “Faith Alive Behind the Wall: An Introduction to Prison Ministry,” a theologically rich and deeply human reflection on the power of faith in correctional settings. The book has been praised by chaplains, prison advocates, and faith leaders for its compassionate, practical, and visionary approach to incarcerated ministry.

But beyond his work as an author, Reverend Bolívar Flores is widely known as a living bridge between faith and justice. In his capacity as Chief of Staff at NJRC, he has led strategic efforts to provide access to housing, mental health treatment, addiction recovery, workforce training, and legal services to thousands seeking a second chance after incarceration, addiction, or systemic marginalization.

His humility, combined with a work ethic that exceeds 17 hours a day, seven days a week, has earned him the respect of elected officials, community leaders, and—most importantly—those whose voices have long gone unheard. To many, Reverend Flores is not only a pastor, but a living hope: a listening heart, a guiding hand, and a steady light for those walking through the darkness.

At a time when despair has become commonplace, the life and work of Reverend Bolívar Flores reminds us that there are still those who dedicate themselves fully to serving, healing, and restoring dignity to others.
