5 Busted For Crystal Meth In Lacey Apartment: Police

One is in jail, but four were released, police said.

LACEY, N.J. — Five people were charged with having crystal methamphetamine Friday in a Lacey apartment, police said. Officials executed a search warrant following a seven-month investigation into drug distribution and possession, according to the Lacey Police Department.

The following were targets of the investigation and were inside the apartment in Building 9 of the Cornerstone at Lacey complex on Gary Smith Way, police said:

  • Anthony Caruso, 36, of Building 7
  • Kelly Trangone, 39, of Building 7
  • Robert Charlie, 37, (Removed)
  • Davina Deusinger, 46, of Red Oak Road, Brown Mills
  • Jamin Alegre, 39, of Memorial Drive, Waretown

Officials found large quantities of crystal meth and several prescription medications, including Oxycodone and Clonazepam. There were also hypodermic syringes, glass smoking pipes and straws containing residue and "drug paraphernalia consistent with the packaging and distribution of narcotics, including digital scales, cutting agents, baggies, and ledgers," according to police.

Lacey police announced the arrests at about 5:30 p.m. Friday but did not list what time they occurred. Initial attempts to contact officials with more information were unsuccessful.

Robert Charlie (Ocean County Correctional Facility)

All were charged with meth possession, police said. Caruso was charged with distrubution and intent to distribute, officials said. Trangone and Deusinger were charged with intent to distribute, according to police.

Charlie was taken to Ocean County Correctional Facility, according to officials. The other four were released on complaint summonses pending future court appearances, police said. It was not immediately clear why Charlie was lodged while the others were released.
