Forked River Tuna Club holds its second annual Trifecta Tournament

The Forked River Tuna Club held their second annual Trifecta Tournament.

Those who won first, second, and third places got cash prizes. Fourth and fifth place received rod and reel combos.

Larry Hillman of Lacey won the Trifecta Combo, which is the heaviest three fluke, striped bass, and bluefish total weight. Hillman won a custom Bille Gale rod and reel.

The club had weigh stations from Hazlet down to Egg Harbor Township and over 100 anglers participate in each tournament. Lacey marine and Spirits Unlimited sponsored the tournament.

The Forked River Tuna Club’s 54th Annual Tournament will take place from Aug. 20 to 27, which are fluke and bluefish. The Fall Bass and Blues tournament is Oct. 15 to Nov. 19.
 
The Forked River Tuna Club was formed in 1930 with the primary purpose of entering various fishing tournaments along the Atlantic Seaboard.

The club meets on the fourth Friday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the corner of Route 9 and Bay Avenue.
