General Election Showdown Set In NJ's 9th Legislative District

OCEAN COUNTY — The field is set for November's general election in New Jersey's 9th legislative district, after thousands cast their ballots in Tuesday's primary election.
Local voters also got a look at who is hoping to take the seat of retiring Republican senator Christopher Connors and of assemblywoman DiAnne Gove, who did not win the party's nomination.
New Jersey's 9th legislative district includes municipalities in Ocean County: Barnegat, Barnegat Light, Beach Haven, Beachwood, Berkeley, Eagleswood, Harvey Cedars, Lacey, Lakehurst, Little Egg Harbor, Long Beach, Manchester, Waretown, Ocean Gate, Pine Beach, Ship Bottom, Stafford, Surf City and Tuckerton.

All 40 of New Jersey’s legislative districts have elections this year for state Senate and General Assembly seats. Democrats have a 46-34 advantage in the Assembly and a 25-15 margin in the Senate, but control won’t be decided until November.
