How Lacey-Area Students Can Get Art Displayed In U.S. Capitol
The Congressional Art Competition is open high-school students around the nation. Here's how to enter in NJ's third district.

High-school students in the Lacey area can get their art displayed in the U.S. Capitol. Congressman Andy Kim announced the Congressional Art Competition has opened for New Jersey's Third Congressional District.
The district's winning artwork will get displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. The Congressional Art Competition's webpage will also feature the winning work.
Artwork entered can be no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, four inches deep or more than 15 pounds (even when framed). If your artwork is selected as the winning piece, it must arrive framed and fit within the aforementioned dimensions.
Accepted mediums for two-dimensional art are the following:

- Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
- Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal (It is recommended that charcoal and pastel drawings be fixed.)
- Prints: lithographs, silk screen, block prints
- Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.
- Collages (must be two dimensional)
- Computer-generated art
- Photographs
Artwork must adhere to House Office Building Commission policy. Exhibits depicting subjects of contemporary political controversy or a sensationalistic or gruesome nature are prohibited.
Any 3rd District high-school student interested in submitting a piece must fill out a release and application form. Then attach the release form to your piece of art and mail it to one of Kim's district offices:
