Island Beach State Park In NJ's Top 10 Beaches: Poll

USA Today readers voted Island Beach State Park as one of NJ's best. Here's how it ranked:

SEASIDE PARK, NJ — Island Beach State Park is a fan favorite beach in New Jersey. It's so popular that often in the summer it has to close to new visitors. And it's taken home another honor: USA Today readers named it one of the best beaches in the state.

The USA Today Reader's Choice poll named Island Beach State Park number eight in the top 10 New Jersey beaches.

In first place is the Wildwoods.

"The coastal dunes here remain largely untouched, and the sandy beach is one of the most undeveloped on the Atlantic coast," USA Today wrote of Island Beach State Park.

Its lack of development is a big draw for visitors, who enjoy the 10 miles of sandy dunes on the barrier island.
