Lacey Bus Crashes, Driver Gets DWI In Toms River: Police
The driver was under the influence of prescription medication, police said.

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A Lacey Township bus driver was charged with driving while intoxicated after her bus filled with students got into an accident Monday morning, police said. Cheryl Rooth was under the influence of prescription medication, according to Toms River police.
Rooth struck the rear of an unoccupied bus, not stopping in time, while pulling into Ocean County Vocational Technical School in Toms River, police said. Eight of the 28 students on Rooth's bus, including three juveniles, suffered minor injuries, officials said.
Rooth, 57, of Whiting, was charged with DWI, DWI in a school zone, DWI through a school crossing and DWI with a minor in the vehicle.
