Lacey Committee Adopts Dog Tethering Ordinance

Measure sets limits on how long a dog can be left outside and alone.

It took a few months, but Lacey Township Committee members have adopted an ordinance that sets limits on how long dogs can be tethered or chained outside, according to app.com.

Residents who leave dogs tied up outside or without shelter or water will pay a price - either a fine or risk having their pets taken away.

“It’s an opportunity to protect animals,” Committeeman Peter Curatolo said.
