Lacey Resident Buys 2 Puppies; It Was Fraud: PD

LACEY, NJ — A Forked River resident thought she paid a Texas breeder for two Rottweiler puppies. It turned out to be fraud, Lacey police said.

The resident told police Friday that she bought the puppies from a Texas breeder. She planned to pick them up at the Atlantic City Airport after they were shipped by airplane. She paid about $3,500, police said.

But the dogs never arrived in their temperature-controlled crates. An inquiry into the breeder's address comes back to a Texas Post Office, police said.

Overdoses

Lacey authorities also administered Narcan on three victims within 20 hours last Thursday. Police responded to three separate incidents, which appear to have stemmed from heroin, police said.
