Mallory's Army Anti-Bullying Presentation Postponed In Lacey
The Lacey School District is planning a larger community event after the bullying and death of Adriana Kuch in neighboring Central Regional.

LACEY, NJ — The Lacey Township School District has postponed a Mallory's Army presentation and instead will be holding a larger community event at a later date.
The decision comes in the wake of the suicide of Adriana Kuch, 14, from Central Regional High School. Lacey schools previously announced that they were reviewing their own anti-bullying policies and checking in with students. Read more: Anti-Bullying Policies Reviewed In Lacey Schools
Mallory's Army is a bullying and suicide prevention organization created by NJ mom Dianne Grossman whose daughter took her own life several years ago. Grossman was set to give a presentation on Feb. 22, but was mutually postponed by herself and Lacey Superintendent Vanessa Pereira, Pereira announced at a recent Board of Education meeting.

She said that instead, the district is planning for a bigger, more widespread event, and hopes to partner with some surrounding districts, as well as bring in "very, very specific speakers."
More information will come after Pereira meets with PTA presidents and when the district has their first steering committee meeting.

The steering committee is one of the ways the district plans to improve existing policies. It will consist of school leaders, teachers, parents, community members and students to review existing policies related to Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying; cell phone use; student code of conduct; as well as policies that relate to culture and climate, Pereira said.
