Man Charged In Waretown Pedestrian Death Pleads Guilty To Vehicular Homicide

The man who drove for nearly two miles with the pedestrian he hit in Waretown still stuck in his windshield pleaded guilty recently to vehicular homicide, according to the Asbury Park Press.
Marcos A. Ortega, 33, Little Egg Harbor, told Ocean County Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski he didn’t realize Kenneth C. Moeller was trapped in the windshield because he had blacked out after drinking and smoking marijuana.
Moeller, 61, later died of his injuries at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Ortega made the admissions on March 17, when he pleaded guilty to an accusation charging him with the vehicular homicide of Moeller, a married father of four adult children, Assistant Prosecutor Patrick Sheehan said.
