Man Found Dead In Boat At Laurel Harbor Marina And Yacht Club In Lacey Township: State Police
An autopsy is pending on the body of Michael Merz, 48, of Toms River, state trooper says.
The New Jersey State Police are investigating the death of a 48-year-old Toms River man who was found dead in a boat at a Lacey Township marina Tuesday afternoon, said Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
Michael Merz, 48, was discovered by the owner of the Laurel Harbor Marina and Yacht Club, he said.
"It appears the boat was docked," Goez said. "He dialed 911," Goez said. "We were contacted by the Lacey Township Police Department. We did not get a call until 3:30 p.m."

Detectives from the state police Marine Service Bureau responded. They have jurisdiction in the matter since the boat was on the water, he said.
An autopsy is pending, Goez said.
