LACEY, NJ — Frustrated by a seemingly endless stream of salespeople at your front door? Lacey officials are too and have introduced a new "no-knock" ordinance.

First discussed by the Township Committee back in August after an incident where 28 pest control salesmen went door-to-door, an ordinance to create a no-knock registry was officially introduced at a recent meeting.

The proposed ordinance raises fees for door-to-door solicitors but not for mobile food vendors like ice cream trucks, McGuckin said.

It also creates a registry where residents can get a sticker to put on their window and be put on the no-knock list given to police for a $5 fee, she said.

This ordinance was introduced at the latest meeting; it will be up for public comment and final vote at the Oct. 26 Township Committee meeting.
