'No-Shave November' A Big Success In Lacey Township
Police officers, emergency service workers and several township employees topple the goal to raise funds for cancer charities.

Lacey police officers and emergency services workers put down their razors a month ago to see how much money they could raise to fight cancer.
The answer? $8,289, far above the $5,000 goal set on Nov. 1 for the "No-Shave November" challenge.
"I am very honored by the amount of support we received from our community," Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said. "Needless to say this event was a true success and I am very proud of everyone who was involved."

Funds raised by the “Lacey Township Challenge” will go to charities including the American Cancer Society, Prevent Cancer Foundation, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Donations on behalf of the police officers and the emergency services personnel were made directly to No-Shave.org under the Lacey Township Challenge.

Both the Lacey Township Police Department and the Lacey Township Emergency Services pledged to reach $2,500 each, for a total donation of $5,000. But they raised far more than that.
Township Committeeman Gary Quinn and Community Development Director Christopher Reid also participated.
