The two top officials in the Lacey Township school district won’t be presiding over Board of Education meetings for too much longer.
The Lacey Board of Education recently authorized spending up $7,500 to conduct a superintendent search to replace Sandra Anthony. A previous board in 2014 gave Anthony - who was known as Sandra Brower then - a notice of non-renewal of her contract.

Brower was suspended without pay in June 2013, after she was indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury and charged with second-degree official misconduct, third-degree hindering apprehension and fourth-degree obstruction during the time she was assistant superintendent in Wall Township.
Sandra Brower was reinstated in February 2014, after the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office dropped all charges.. She was entitled to back pay from the time she was suspended. Her salary is $167,500 a year.

When a resident asked if the superintendent search was still on at a recent Board of Education meeting, Board President Maureen Tirella said it was.
Tirella said there are four new board members since Anthony returned to the district and they would like a say in who will replace Brower.
