Women's Club Makes Big Donation To Mount Zion
The Women's Club of the Forked River Tuna Club made a nice donation to the Mount Zion mission of the Lacey United Methodist Church.

Carrie Etzel of the Women's Club of the Forked River Tuna Club ran a fundraiser to raise funds for Mount Zion, which sits on the property of the Lacey United Methodist Church, located at 203 West Lacey Road in Forked River. In conjunction with Vetwork, Mount Zion offers temporary housing to veterans, as well as other assistance that is needed. Pastor Jonathan Campbell is quoted as saying this about Mount Zion, "Thanks to the hard work of Maddie Stapleton and her amazing team, this dream has become a reality. The Mount Zion ministry draws inspiration from Micah 4: 6-7 and the prophet's vision of a day when God will gather the hurting and broken on Mount Zion to comfort and care for them."
Last week, Mary Wanca (the president of the Women's Club) and Carrie Etzel visited the Lacey United Methodist Church with a $1500.00 check for the mission. In addition to Wanca and Etzel, working on the fundraising team was Pat Engard, Joyce Miller, Terri Browning, Linda Haertel, Lina Kazala and Barbara McNamara. Located at 18 Bay Avenue in Forked River, the Forked River Tuna Club is a not-for-profit social club whose purpose is "to foster and promote skill in the sport of yachting, boating, hunting and fishing and sportsmanlike conduct in the pursuit thereof; skill and efficiency in the handling of yachts, boats and hunting equipment; and healthful, social and recreational activities and provide the necessary facilities therefor."
