Dispose Of Unused, Expired Prescription Drugs In Mercer On April 22
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 22 at the parking lot across from the Mercer County Administration Building
MERCER COUNTY, NJ – Mark your Spring calendars. It's time for you to safely dispose of your unused and expired prescription medication. Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler will be hosting National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 22.
The aim is to help residents rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers, in addition to any other unneeded prescription medications. Residents can drop off unused and expired prescription pills, with no questions asked by bringing them to the parking lot across from the Mercer County Administration Building at 640 South Broad Street in Trenton between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day provides a safe, convenient, and responsible method for disposing of unneeded and expired prescription pills.

"Accidental misuse, abuse, or addiction can too quickly start right from your home medicine cabinet," Kemler said.
Proper disposal of medications also reduces environmental risks, as medicines flushed down the drain can inadvertently enter drinking water supplies.

“So, gather up your old prescriptions and make our local communities safer and healthier, too," Kemler said.
Vape pens and other e-cigarette devices will be collected at the event only after the batteries are removed earlier. Syringes, sharp instruments, liquid medications, or solutions will not be accepted.
