Here are all the important dates families need to know about for the coming school year.
LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The first bell on the 2019-20 school year is still more than a month away, but it's never too early to get your school calendars in order. To help out, we've compiled a listing of important dates for the Lawrence Township Public School District in the coming year:
- First Day of School: Sept. 5
- Schools Closed for Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 30
- Schools Closed for Yom Kippur: Oct. 9
- Schools Closed for Students: Oct. 14
- Schools Closed for Students: Nov. 6
- Schools Closed for NJEA Convention: Nov. 7-8
- K-8 Single Session: Nov. 21-22
- K-12 Single Session: Nov. 25-27
- Schools Closed for Thanksgiving: Nov. 28-29
- K-12 Single Session: Dec. 20
- Schools Closed for Winter Break: Dec. 23-Jan. 1
- Schools Closed for Martin Luther King Day: Jan. 20
- Schools Closed for President's Day: Feb. 17
- Schools Closed for Students: March 20
- K-12 Single Session: April 1
- K-8 Single Session: April 2-3
- Schools Closed for Spring Break: April 6-10
- Schools Closed for Memorial Day: May 25
- Last day of School, High School Graduation: June 23
Families are advised not to make any irrevocable vacation plans. Makeup dates will begin with Feb. 18, April 13, May 22 and June 24, followed by additional Spring Break days, if necessary.
