Lawrence's ‘Captain Paul’ To Be Grand Marshal At Memorial Day Parade
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. from its starting point at Lawrence High School on Saturday.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade will take place this Saturday at 10 a.m.
This year, Paul Tweedly, retired captain of Trenton NJ Fire Department and the owner of Captain Paul’s’s Firehouse Dogs will be the grand marshal, the township announced.
As the owner of Captain Paul’s Firehouse Dogs Tweedly has made a significant impact by supporting various organizations and fundraising efforts. Paul's patriotic spirit and support for our military and their families can be seen at Captain Paul's establishment, serving as a heartfelt reminder of their sacrifices.

"We are honored to have Paul Tweedly serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2023 Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade," Municipal Manager Kevin Nerwinski said in a statement.
"His unwavering dedication to the men and women in emergency services, the military, and their families, along with his outstanding support of various charitable causes, make him a deserving choice for this esteemed role. We are confident that his presence will inspire our community and make this year's parade truly exceptional.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. from its starting point at Lawrence High School. Tweedly will lead the procession, which will march north on Princeton Pike, continue on Darrah Lane, Birchwood Knoll and Oaklyn Terrance, finally ending at Veterans Park.
At Veterans Park there will be a ceremony that will feature music from the Lawrence Township Community Band, a cannon salute and wreath-laying.
Marching in the parade will be the Lawrence Police Department, Fire Departments, EMS, and Public Works Department along with non-profit organizations, marching bands, school groups, military groups and others.
Free hot dogs and water will be served.
