Mercer School Amends Rules For Attending Games After Stabbing Death
Trenton school district has put in place new security rules for all its high school basketball games.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ – Trenton School District has changed the rules of athletic attendance, effective immediately after a man was stabbed to death last week during a high school basketball game.

No bags, purses or camera cases will be allowed inside the gym and anyone who refuses to abide by the district’s screening policy will be denied entry to the event.

Admission to all games will begin 45 minutes before the start of the sporting event, according to the new rules.
Students and visitors will not be allowed to wear ski masks or gaitor masks inside the facility.

High school students who are attending an athletic event must have a student ID and sit in the section reserved for high school students, according to the new rules.
Middle school students must be accompanied by an adult in order to attend athletic events at the high school.
Khalil Glanton, a resident of Trenton, was stabbed multiple times inside the CURE Insurance Arena on Thursday night. The incident happened after the game between Trenton High School and Notre Dame High School.
He was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m., authorities said.
Glanton is a 2019 graduate of Trenton Central High School, according to James Earle, Superintendent of Trenton Public School District.
