Repairs are being made to the historic intersection of Quakerbridge Road and Quaker Road near the Delaware & Raritan Canal on Lawrence Township's border with Princeton and West Windsor townships.
Work is underway to repair damage caused by Hurricane Irene to the historic Port Mercer area along the Delaware & Raritan Canal at the intersection of Quakerbridge Road and Quaker Road.
The intersection serves as the border of Lawrence Township, Princeton Township and West Windsor Township.
Located nearby is the historic Port Mercer Canal House, which was built in the 1830s next to a swing bridge over the canal to serve as home to the bridgetender and his family.

Lawrence Township officials said the intersection of Quakerbridge Road and Quaker Road will be closed at least through the end of this week while repair work takes place.
