2 Cars Stolen, 5 Others Burglarized Monday Morning In Livingston
One Livingston homeowner found the house entered and the keys missing from inside. Then, the Mercedes Benz was discovered missing.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Two cars were discovered stolen from Livingston early Monday morning, and five others were burglarized on one street, police said.
In one case, police said, Chetwynd Terrace homeowners told police at 6:46 a.m. that they awoke to find the front door of their home wide open. The Mercedes Benz G63 was missing from the garage, police said.
"The residents went to bed last night around [10:30] and forgot to lock the front door and set the house alarm," police said. "Found to be stolen from the residence were the keys to the G63, wallet, $300 cash, 2 purses, numerous credit cards and the keys for an Audi Q5. The Detective Bureau is working the case at this time."

Later that morning, at 7:44 a.m., officers responded to Wardell Road, where homeowners awoke to find a missing vehicle. It was equipped with On-Star and was recovered a short time later in East Orange, police said.
Both of those reports followed the discovery early that morning that five vehicles at three different Herbert Terrace residences were entered and rummaged through.

Police said that the West Orange Police Department was canvassing the area after responding to motor vehicle burglaries in their part of Herbert Terrace, and discovered the burglarized Livingston vehicles around 5:39 a.m.
