$20K In Necklaces Stolen From Livingston Mall Jeweler: Police

Someone asked to see gold necklaces at a jewelry store in the Livingston Mall, police said, then "took off running" with the merchandise.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston police are investigating a theft of $20,000 in jewelry from a store in the Livingston Mall that occurred last week, police said Tuesday.

Police said that a week ago Tuesday, at 12:46 p.m., Livingston officers responded to a call from Roma Jewelers at the Livingston Mall.

Associates told police that they showed a customer three gold necklaces from a case.

The person "took off running out of the store with them," according to police.

The necklaces had a total value of $20,000, police said. The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating.

A similar crime occurred at the Macy's in the Livingston Mall last month.
