87K In Jewelry Stolen From Macy's At Livingston Mall: Police

The Livingston police said someone asked Macy's staff to see jewelry that was in a drawer. Then they took $87K worth and ran.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A person grabbed $87,000 in jewelry from the Macy's store at the Livingston Mall on Sunday evening and fled, according to the Livingston police.

A police spokesman said on Tuesday that this past Sunday at 7:46 p.m., officers responded to the store on the report of a jewelry theft.

Macy's staff told police that a suspect "came into the jewelry department and asked to see a piece of jewelry in a locked cabinet."

When staff opened the cabinet, the person reached inside and grabbed "numerous bracelets" valued at $87,000, police said.

The suspect fled, and the Livingston police are investigating.
