Major Bookstore Ready To Reopen In Livingston, Grand Opening Date Set

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A major bookstore is getting ready to open its new location in Livingston.

Barnes & Noble will open its doors at the Livingston Shopping Center near Route 10 on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The store has more than 25,000 square feet of books, toys, games, magazines and gift items, in addition to a café.

Barnes & Noble Livingston will officially open to the public at 9 a.m., with local author Harlan Coben cutting the ribbon and signing copies of his book, “I Will Find You.” The grand opening will also include deals for new customers and other activities.

The chain’s relocation in Livingston comes after it moved from the ailing Livingston Mall, which is slated for redevelopment and entering its final days.

Barnes & Noble’s new store at the Livingston Shopping Center on West Mount Pleasant Avenue is just under two miles from the store’s old home. It is located at a former Buy Buy Baby location, which has also housed a Spirit Halloween pop-up store.

The Livingston store is the first Barnes & Noble grand opening in the northern New Jersey area this year, with an additional opening planned in Wayne in the coming months.

“We are pleased to continue with this sparkling new store our 34-year tenure serving the Livingston community,” CEO James Daunt said.

“The store in Livingston and our upcoming opening in Wayne later this year both promise to bring the very best of bookselling to these areas,” Daunt said.
