Talented, dedicated semiprofessional musicians from our communities have been gathering on Tuesday evenings since mid-June in preparation for the Essex County Summer Players Orchestra annual August Concert. Music Director and Conductor Nate White and the orchestra invite you to experience this joy of live classical musical performance on Sunday August 3 at 3pm at Heritage Middle School, 30 Foxcroft Drive , Livingston.
The program this year begins with English composer Elgar’s “Three Characteristic Pieces,” which includes a triple metered Polish Mazurka, a quiet Moorish Serenade, and a Gavotte dance that the composer takes from its baroque origin to a modern form. Internationally acclaimed violinist Evelyn Estava follows as soloist in Saints-Saens brilliant “Violin Concerto No.3”, her passion and technical mastery on full display. To wrap up the afternoon is classically romantic composer Glière’s “Symphony No.1,” known for its beautiful melodies, superb scoring, and rich color.
Please join the Essex County Summer Player’s Orchestra on August 3 for a refreshing afternoon of live music. Admission is free, although donations to support this non-profit organization are gratefully accepted. For more information on the concert or the orchestra, please visit us at https://www.ecsponj.com.
