Join Holocaust Survivor Mark Schonwetter for the Journey For The Living Challenge Kickoff Walk!
Livingston Oval, Livingston, NJ
Sunday, May 3rd | 11 AM ET
May 1st marks the start of the Journey For The Living Challenge, where participants walk, run, or bike 15 miles throughout May to support Holocaust education. This Walk-A-Thon honors Mark Schonwetter, a Holocaust survivor, who—alongside his mother and younger sister—walked 15 miles in one night to escape the Nazis.
Every dollar raised funds Holocaust education grants for teachers nationwide. Since 2020, we have impacted over 253,000 students in 42 states.
At this special kickoff event, you’ll have the rare opportunity to walk alongside Mark Schonwetter himself. We will also celebrate the impact and advocacy of Emily Loeb, Director of the Pittsburgh Holocaust Center, with the 2026 Voice of Kindness Award — recognizing her unwavering support of our mission and her belief that education is one of the most powerful tools we have to build a more compassionate world.
