On July 4, 2026, the United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary of its independence, marking a pivotal moment in world history when a group of colonies challenged the most powerful empire of their time.

This engaging multimedia presentation by historian and photographer Mario Medici, traces the dramatic story of the American Revolution, beginning with the growing tensions between the colonies and Great Britain and culminating in the bold declaration of independence. Through a clear chronological narrative, the program explores the political conflicts, acts of resistance, and decisive moments that transformed colonial protest into a full-scale revolution.

Participants will revisit key events such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the battles of Lexington and Concord, and the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. Along the way, the program highlights the contributions of influential figures including George Washington, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson, as well as the many ordinary men and women whose courage and sacrifices shaped the revolutionary cause.

The presentation will include references to period artwork by artists of the time, video scenes and audio segments depicting key events and individuals that bring the story vividly to life.

Get ready to be inspired by the stories of the brave men and women who risked everything for a desperate bid for freedom.

This program is made possible with the support of The Friends of the Livingston Public Library.
