Livingston Robotics Club (LRC) has been searching for a role model to encourage children ages 6-9 to have interest in science and technology. Finally they found these superstars right here in Livingston. LRC will host the LRC Junior FIRST LEGO League Expo as part of Youth Appreciation Week. The large outdoor Expo will be held at the Oval this Saturday, May 28, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with 16 robotics teams from many Northern New Jersey towns, and other exhibitions.
The theme for this year is about how to use advanced technologies in the medical field. Saint Barnabas Medical Center is the sponsor of the event. They will also have doctors from their robotics surgical team to talk to children about their robotics surgical system.
LRC has been planning to add more fun and educational activities related to biomedical engineering and robotics for the Expo. Those include demonstrations on self-organizing nanobots and a hand-on experiment provided by Bio-Bus from New York City. There will be demonstrations of the award winning robot by FIRST Tech Challenge team, Landoids, and Body Forward robot by an all-girl FIRST LEGO League team, Landrias.
The activities are free and open to the public.
