Exit 6 Robotics Competes at VEX AI Robotics World Championships
Livingston Robotics Club team traveled to Houston TX to compete in the inaugural VAIRC World Championships, June 7-8 2024
overall State Champion / Excellence Award team, Exit 6 Robotics, represented by Livingston HS juniors, Arya Deshmukh and Ryan Lam, competed on June 7th and 8th at the VEX AI Robotics Competition 2024 World Championships. The event was held in Houston, TX and featured 19 High School and University teams from around the world including China, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and the United States.
VEX AI is billed as "The Future of Educational Robotics" with 4 fully autonomous robots on the field at at time and no human interaction. The VEX AI Vision System using Intel RealSense cameras and NVidia Jetson Nano processors for ML/AI and object detection are key hallmarks distinguishing VEX AI from other competitions. This competition featured High School students and College students within the same category level.
Although the team traveled with out their primary programming team, Exit 6 Robotics, was able to manage a respectable finish against college teams and other HS teams. Relying on a crash course in programming during the previous weeks, they were able to make it to the knockout rounds where they were knocked out late in the 1st round.

The team was invigorated by the experience and is looking forward to an exciting 2024/2025 season. Team members include Arya Deshmukh, Armaan Lerner, Ryan Lam, Wesley Yang, Rian Thomas, Ben Laskov and congratulations to graduating seniors, Aalok Dhurandhar, Alan Hu, Varun Sohal, and Tyrus Yung.
The team plans on adding 3 to 4 new team members, grades 8-10.

Exit 6 Robotics has been competing since 2017, with a long history of achievement including 2018 VEX IQ NJ overall State Champion / Excellence Award, 2018 VEX IQ World Championship, 2019 CREATE US Open VEX IQ / Design Award, 2019 FIRST Lego League NJ State 1st Place Champions Award, 2020 FLL World Festival invitation (COVID canceled), 2021 FLL Virtual Open Invitation / Innovative Robot Design Award, 2022 Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams (partnering with Exit 5A Robotics), 2023 CREATE US Open Open Division / 3rd Place.
