Five Unlocked Cars Burglarized At Livingston Homes In 4-Day Period: Police
Five vehicles parked in residential areas of Livingston were burglarized over the past week, police said.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Five vehicle burglaries were reported to the Livingston police in the span of four days, police said. All of the victims said their vehicles had been left unlocked.
These were the reports:
Tuesday, Nov. 21, 7:21 a.m., police responded to a Hillside Avenue residence on a report of a burglary to a vehicle. The victim reported awakening to find that someone had broken into and rummaged through their unlocked BMW overnight. The perpetrator stole a wallet from inside, the victim said.

On Thanksgiving Day, at 2:30 p.m., Livingston officers responded to a Morningside Drive home. The victim said that someone entered their unlocked Cadillac during the night and stole a pair of sunglasses.
That evening, at 6:28 p.m., An Audubon Road resident told police that their Ring camera had picked up a person entering their unlocked Acura and stealing a backpack, then fleeing.

The next day, at 5:29 a.m., police responded to a Post Lane home on a report of a burglary to two vehicles. The victim told police that their unlocked Mercedes and Acura had been entered and rummaged through overnight. A purse was stolen from one of the vehicles, police said.
The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating all of the thefts.
