LIVINGSTON, NJ — The National Weather Service expected that a snowstorm expected to blanket the Northeast would be wrapping up by the morning commute on Friday, with 3 to 5 inches dumped in Essex County by morning.

Thursday Night: A chance of snow in the evening, then snow after midnight. Total snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Lows in the upper 20s. West winds around 5 mph, becoming north after midnight. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

Friday Morning And Afternoon: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow in the morning, then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of snow 50 percent.
