Hurricane Ian And Livingston: 30 MPH Wind Gusts, Inch Of Rain In Local Forecast

The updated National Weather Service forecast calls for an inch or more of rain in Essex County on Saturday, with 30 m.p.h. winds.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The latest forecast for Livingston and the rest of Essex County shows that more than an inch of rain could fall throughout Saturday, with wind gusts as high as 30 m.p.h. on Sunday.

Major activities planned in the area this weekend have already been postponed, like Livingston's 100th anniversary fire truck parade.

While Hurricane Ian isn't going to smash into New Jersey from the sea like Superstorm Sandy did 10 years ago, a storm that weakens over land can still bring heavy wind and rain, as we saw with the fatal Tropical Depression Ida only one year ago.
