Livingston Wishes Happy Retirement To Ex-Fire Chief Schilling
One of the most recognizable Livingston town employees of the past century has officially begun his well-deserved retirement.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — One of the most recognizable Livingston town employees of the past century has officially begun his well-deserved retirement from municipal service.
Charlie Schilling – a longtime member of the Livingston Fire Department and Livingston First Aid Squad – retired Jan. 31, two months shy of his 98th birthday, the West Essex Tribune reported.
According to the Livingston Fire Department, Schilling retired after 36 years as chief in 1990. He continued to serve as a member of the department and worked with the municipal building department as a code enforcement officer, and was an original charter member of the Livingston First Aid Squad.
