Livingston BOE Approves School Budget With Tax Increase
School taxes will rise for the average Livingston homeowner. About 73 percent of the budget goes "directly to students."

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Board of Education approved a 2017-18 budget that will increase the school portion of Livingston residents’ taxes by 1.76 percent during their public meeting earlier this week.
The budget will increase taxes by $160 for the average Livingston homeowner with a property valued at $617,445, according to Livingston Schools Business Administrator Steve Robinson.
During Monday’s board meeting and budget hearing, Robinson said that 73 percent of the now-approved budget will go directly to students via “instruction and support services,” including special education, TAP Into Livingston reported.
