Under the leadership of a full-time Fire Chief and Assistant Chief, the Department operates with a staff of more than 70 unpaid volunteer firefighters, including three volunteer Deputy Chiefs. The members of the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department are on call twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year to provide fire protection and other emergency services to the citizens of Livingston.”
“In 2023, the department responded to 28 general fire alarms and 1,028 miscellaneous calls for emergency service,” fund drive chair Craig Dufford wrote in a recent mailer (read it below). “Additionally, they answered numerous mutual aid requests from other fire departments in neighboring communities throughout the year.”
