Livingston Fire Department: Mulch Fire / Leaking Water At Library / Gas Odor
The Livingston Fire Department responded to 17 calls from Sept. 9 to 15.

The Livingston Fire Department responded to 17 calls from Sept. 9 to 15.
According to the LFD, incidents included:
- On Sept. 9, an East Sherbrooke Drive resident turned an oven on self-clean and saw smoke. LFD responders checked the unit and found no problem.
- On Sept. 9, firefighters extinguished a mulch fire in front of the China Garden building. A small area was found burning and the area was wet down.
- On Sept. 10, a fire alarm was activated as a result of a slight smoke condition in Nana’s Deli. No problem was found and the system was reset.
- On Sept. 10, firefighters helped to remediate leaking water at the Livingston Library, which was seeping from the roof into a hallway light fixture.
- On Sept. 11, passerby reported a “gas odor” in front of a Chelsea Drive residence. Responders checked two catch basins and the sewer, but found no readings or odor.
- On Sept. 11, firefighters responded to an alarm transmission at the Westminster Hotel. According to the LFD, the system activated as a result of a shorted light bulb. The property manager disconnected the bulb and reset the system.
