Livingston Marching Band To Hold First Competition In Years
It's been over a decade since the LHS marching band held a competition. Organizers expect 2,000 people for this year's event.

On Oct. 3, the Livingston High School Band Boosters will host the first LHS Marching Band Competition in years.
The event – which is being run in conjunction with USBands - will feature 13 bands and as many as 1,000 high school band members.
Total attendance at the event is estimated to exceed 2,000 people, including spectators and volunteers, organizers stated in a release.

Bands that are currently registered and will compete with Livingston High School include: Bernards High School, Passaic High School, Northern Highlands Regional High School, Passaic Valley High School, Wayne Valley High School, Montville Township High School, Morris Hills High School, Mahwah High School Pompton Lakes High School, Port Chester High School, West Orange High School and West Essex Regional High School.
The Band Boosters is inviting businesses and families in the community to purchase event sponsorships in support of the competition and LHS Band Program. Funds raised will be used to purchase instruments, concert attire and equipment, as well as provide scholarships that are awarded to senior band students at the end of the year.
