Livingston To NYC: OurBus Plans New Service, Seeks Local Input
Are you a commuter in Livingston looking for a new way to get to Midtown Manhattan?

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Are you a commuter in Livingston looking for a new way to get to Midtown Manhattan? You may have another travel option when OurBus launches local service in July.
The New York-based company connects groups of commuters with licensed luxury motor coach services. Any group of 100 or more commuters can request a new service in their area, according to a company statement.
The company plans to launch service in Livingston and West Orange in “early July,” a spokesperson told Patch.

“We realize that starting a new service here is urgent,” OurBus Transportation Planner Axel Hellman said. “Local commuters have been telling us for months that they aren’t satisfied with their existing travel options, and the shutdown of Morris & Essex train service to Penn Station will only make things worse.”

OurBus is currently asking local commuters to submit their crowd-sourcing suggestions for commuter hotspots where the new bus service should stop. These locations can be - but do not have to be - existing bus stops, the company stated.
Locations that are most likely to be served are major intersections, apartment complexes and park and rides, OurBus stated.
Crowdsourcing suggestions can be submitted until the end of June on the OurBus website, along with preferred drop-offs in Manhattan and morning/evening departures times.
“After the route and schedule are crowd-sourced, the service will launch in early July with two departures in each direction,” the company stated. “This will increase to three trips in each direction after approximately two weeks.”
Fares will be “in line with existing travel options,” OurBus stated.
