Livingston’s Town Manager Resigns After Super-Short Stint On Job

It proved to be a short stint on the job for newly appointed (and recently resigned) Livingston Township Manager Greg Bonin.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — It proved to be a short stint on the job for newly appointed (and recently resigned) Livingston Township Manager Greg Bonin.

Bonin – who took over the post from acting township manager Russell Jones Jr. on Aug. 7 – announced his abrupt resignation following the Aug. 14 conference meeting of the Livingston Township Council.

Jones will again assume the mantle of town manager until a suitable replacement can be found, TAP Into Livingston reported.

A third-party firm, Government Management Advisors, provided more than 70 resumes for the job; Livingston town council members then winnowed down the pool via interviews.

“Greg Bonin comes to Livingston from the Township of Branchburg, NJ, where he has been the Administrator for 18 years. He has also been the Borough Clerk for the Borough of Millstone for the past 15 years… A Registered Municipal Clerk and a Qualified Purchasing Agent, he has been the President of the NJ Municipal Managers Association since 2014 and is a member of both the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and the Municipal Clerks Association of New Jersey. He has a Master of Public Administration degree from Rutgers University and is an adjunct instructor in the Mini-MPA Program at the Rutgers University Center for Executive Leadership in Government.”
