Good News For Taxpayers: Livingston Schools To Get Increase In State Aid
Local property taxes are influenced by the state aid for schools. Essex County got the largest aid increase of all NJ counties.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Among counties in New Jersey, Essex County will get the most aid under the next education budget from Gov. Phil Murphy's administration, news that will likely be welcomed by local taxpayers.
Livingston will tentatively get an increase of $7.37 million, a 21.79 percent increase.
New Jersey's pre-K to 12 schools will get $19.2 billion in total in the fiscal year 2023 budget.
