More Than 1100 Without Power In Livingston As Storm Rocks NJ

A large outage affecting 1,142 PSE&G customers in Livingston took place on April 16. When will power be back?

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A blown transformer was behind a power outage in the area of Hillside and Hobart Gap Road in Livingston, authorities said.

A transformer malfunctioned on Hillside Avenue on Sunday, Livingston police said. “At this time we do not have a timeframe for repair,” police stated.

According to PSE&G's online outage map, as of Monday morning, there was also an outage in the area of East Mount Pleasant Avenue and South Livingston Avenue that was affecting 1,142 customers. There was no estimated restoration date as of 9:42 a.m.

PSE&G reported that other outages in Livingston affecting less than five customers took place on:

  • Hemlock Road - Estimated restoration is April 16 at 8:30 p.m.
  • East McClellan Avenue - Estimated restoration is April 16 at 7:15 p.m.
  • South Livingston Avenue (near Wilson Terrace) - Estimated restoration is April 16 at 9:45 p.m.

Statewide, more than 3,000 were without power Monday, and a flash flood watch and flood warnings were in effect throughout New Jersey.
