• Check-washing operation in North Jersey caused over $670K in losses (wchram.com) — Livingston residents who mail checks should know two North Jersey men admitted running a check‑washing scheme that targeted post office boxes in town and in Clifton, causing more than $670,000 in losses. Prosecutors say they used stolen postal keys to "fish" checks from boxes, then altered and sold them before federal postal inspectors shut the operation down. Sentencings are scheduled for December and February.
