Paula Dow to Speak at TBA

Temple's Men's Club and Sisterhood to present "A Tough Prosecutor with a Human Touch" featuring Paula Dow on Tuesday.

Paula T. Dow, New Jersey's Attorney General, will speak at Temple B'nai Abraham on Tuesday at 8 p.m..  The event is free and open to the public. 

Dow was nominated to be Attorney General by Gov. Chris Christie and was confirmed by the state senate in February.  She had been the Essex County Prosecutor since 2003. From 1994 to 2003, Dow worked in the United States Attorney's Office (District of NJ). She was Counsel to the U.S. Attorney and had previously worked in the Special Prosecutions Division and the Criminal Division.

Dow also worked in the United States Attorney's Office (for Southern District of New York) from 1987 to 1994. Prior to that, she worked for Exxon Company from 1980 to 1987 in Texas, New Jersey and New York, advising clients on environmental and labor matters.

She earned her B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College in 1977 and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1980. Dow has been admitted to the bars of various states.  She is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and a member of the Association of Black Women Lawyers of New Jersey Inc.
