Precautionary Water Emergency Declared In Livingston

The water is safe to drink, officials say. But due to increased demand and emergency repairs, residents should save what they can.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston residents are being asked to put the brakes on their water consumption until 11 p.m. on Monday, June 29, municipal officials say.

On Wednesday, Livingston officials declared a “precautionary water emergency” in the township.

The water is safe to drink, but due to increased demand and “emergency infrastructure repairs,” residents should immediately curtail any “nonessential” usage, such as watering lawns, washing cars and any “outdoor recreational water use.”
