ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — After an extremely dry summer, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning during on-and-off rainstorms on Monday, saying specifically that parts of Caldwell, Millburn, Newark, and Bloomfield could flood.

The NWS later released rain totals for each town, from spotters.

For comparison, the deadly Tropical Depression Ida last Sept. 1 dumped more than 7 inches of rain in a short time on parts of North Jersey, leaving flooded corners.
